Elmvale Acres Community Association
The Elmvale Acres Community Association (EACA) is an organization serving the residents of Elmvale Acres in Alta Vista ward of the City of Ottawa.
Membership to the EACA is open to all neighbourhood residents who wish to belong. Residents of neighbouring communities are invited to attend EACA meetings as observers.
The EACA meets monthly -- or on an ad hoc basis, as required -- to discuss matters of community interest and concern. Members are free to introduce, comment and vote on matters of discussion. Members must declare any and all conflicts of interest when addressing EACA business or the membership at large.
The EACA and its constitution were approved by a meeting of residents on January 31, 2016, following unanimous support of the following motion:

- Whereas Elmvale Acres is a unique neighbourhood of Alta Vista Ward, bounded by Smyth Road to the North, Othello Avenue to the East, Pleasant Park Drive to the South and the Hydro corridor to the West;
- Whereas the residents of Elmvale Acres pay property taxes, are users and beneficiaries of municipal services, and are active in all aspects of civic life, including recreation, culture, environment and the electoral process;
- Whereas the residents of Elmvale Acres have a need to unite as a community to enhance participation in all aspects of civic life and address issues of collective concern;
- Whereas the community association of Elmvale Acres residents can, through an elected board of directors and regular public meetings of said residents, including an annual general meeting with full board elections, bring together the community and address the interests and concerns of said residents;
Board of Directors
The EACA board of directors are elected for one-year terms. Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting at the end of January. Any member of the EACA community can vote and seek nomination for a position on the board.
